PROJECT WORK

COMENIUS 2012-2013
 
EUROPEAN DETECTIVE STORIES

Students who participate have to suggest the title of a crime novel or black whose plot takes place in Spain.

The novel is to serve as an instrument to show the Spanish culture (customs, cuisine, art ...) to other participating European countries.


Each student participant will find a work in line with these characteristics and make a summary sheet as follows:

VISIT TO TURKEY


Three teachers at the school, Manuel Fernandez, professor of biology and head of the project, Paula Penalva, professor of French, and M ª Ángeles Serrano, director, traveled between 28 and 31 October to Turkey, to the town of Manavgat, which has held the first meeting of teachers to plan the project "European detective Stories", funded by the European Social Fund.


The project involves seven schools in Germany, Denmark, France, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey, along with our center. They are students of different nationalities know the culture of other countries through a detective novel, share experiences and practice languages. Over two academic years will be three trips with students from all countries of Romania, Bulgaria and Germany and two more teachers meetings in Denmark and finally, in April 2014, in Elda, organized by our center .

WHO IS ELIA BARCELÓ? A SMALL BIOGRAPHY

Elia Barceló was born in Elda, Alacant, Spain, in January 29, 1957). She is Writer.
 She studied
Anglogermanica Philology in the city of Valencia in 1979 and Spanish Philology at the Universities of Alacant and Innsbruck (in Austria). She received his doctorate in the latter in 1995. Since 1981 lives in Austria, where she teaches Hispanic literature.
It is considered one of the most important writers in the Spanish language, the genre of science fiction, along with Angelica Argentina Gorodischer and Daina Chaviano Cuban. The three formed the "female trinity of science fiction in Latin America".
Part of his work has been translated into French, Italian, Catalan, Dutch and Esperanto. Since 1997 he also writes young adult literature.
She is a member of honor of Nocte, the Spanish Association of Horror Writers.

OUR NOVEL OF REFERENCE: "LAS LARGAS SOMBRAS"

The students participating in the project, should read the novel "Las largas sombras" ("The long shadows") by Elia Barceló


ARGUMENT / SUMMARY The long shadows 
Rita just found her friend Lena dead in the bathroom of his home. From the outset, the police ruled out suicide. This is apparently a murder, and although no one can quite figure out the motive, the victim's friends become the prime suspects. All of them, who just turned 50, are known since adolescence and share a terrible secret buried deep in his past. Gradually the friends will have each other's misery and obsessions, his unfulfilled dreams, hopes, and take the reader to the year 1974, when he made a trip to prom with other partners of the same class and will lead the point starting from a nightmare that will never wake up. With a skillful and very personal mix of genres, The long shadows of the book goes beyond police, the portrait of an era or the nostalgic sentimentality of its protagonists. What is here pound is a battle to the death with the life that has been lived.

WELCOME TO THE VALENCIAN COUNTRY AND TO ELDA!!!

The Valencian Country is an autonomous community of Spain located in central and south-eastern Iberian Peninsula. Its capital and largest city is Valencia. It has 518 km of Mediterranean coastline and covers 23,259 km² of land with 5.02 million inhabitants (2008).

Elda is a city located in the province of Alacant, Spain. As of 2009, it has a total population of 55,618 inhabitants, ranking as the 7th most populous city in the province. Elda joins together with the town of Petrer to form a conurbation with over 85,000 inhabitants. The river Vinalopó flows through the urban area of Elda.
Elda is known for its footwear a industry, in particular for women's shoes. Tourist sites include the Footwear Museum, the Archaeological Museum, the Torre del Homenaje del castillo (a tower dating from the 12th century), Castelar Square, Count of Coloma Palace, the Town Hall and the church of Santa Ana. It also celebrates the important festival of Moors and Christians

PROJECT DESCRIPTION



The main objective of the project is the production of audio books with stories of multicultural and intercultural crimes taking place in participating countries with the title "Wanted suspects! Miss Tracy Fox research in Europe ".

Since our project includes contact situations in different European countries, English should be the language of the project. Mediation, as an important skill in learning the English language is the basis for these situations to immediately clarify these contacts face to face. A multilingual dictionary will be part of the contents of your audiobooks.

Includes cross-cultural learning, reading, writing and discussion of European criminal histories. The topic of crime fiction connected with the interests of the people in all European countries and is therefore relevant as a means by which students and teachers can get an understanding of both their own culture and literary traditions as those of other countries and, therefore, a deeper appreciation of the shared European experience.
